Excellent release.

Professor feat. Charactor & Oskido >Jezebel & Imoto Remixes (Incl. Louie Vega, Alix Alvarez, Boddhi Satva & Casamena Mixes)
PROFESSOR LANGA
Singles: Imoto and Jezebel (Remixes)
Imoto Remixers: Louie Vega, Boddhi Satva
Jezebel Remixers: Alix Alvarez, Carlos Mena
(Feb. 2012)
(NEW YORK) Vega Records delivers as promised with a collection of remixes for Imoto and Jezebel, a pair of deep tribal tracks by award-winning Kwaito singer Professor Langa. House music impresarios Louie Vega, Boddhi Satva, Alix Alvarez and Carlos Mena devote full attention to each song, ensuring nothing less than electricity in the air and on the dance floor.
The Durban native best known as Professor swept the 2011 MTN South African Music Awards when he won Male Artist of the Year, Best Kwaito Album (University of Kalawa Jazmee) and Record of the Year (Imoto). His songs, Imoto and Jezebel, embody the distinctive sound of Kwaito, which evolved in the 1990s in townships and continues to reflect the influences of South African music and politics, hip-hop and House. Last year, Vega Records released original and instrumental versions to a broader audience.
Imoto originally built on its intensity with a sweat-inducing intro and foundation throughout the hypnotic track. Boddhi Satva stays true to that vibe with his unique spin on the Ancestrumental Mix, a fearlessly experimental approach that will heighten any serious interest in instrumentation.
Yet again, Louie Vega brilliantly pulls off percussive fierceness and fire with his bumping rework of Imoto (Vega%u2019s Durban Mix and Vega%u2019s Joburg Mix). Pulsating drum interplay with rhythmic chants make these hot mixes hard to resist as proven already at Vega%u2019s weekly Roots party with Kevin Hedge at Cielo nightclub in New York, on their WBLS Friday night radio show and recently abroad in Tel Aviv, where Vega rocked the crowds.
Jezebel, the first single released from Professor%u2019s University of Kalawa Jazmee album, features one of South Africa%u2019s premier Kwaito and House music DJ/producers Oskido (Oscar Mdlongwa). The hard-driving track was a fast and furious hit in the clubs and on South African radio, where Oskido hosts the popular Church. Remixes of Jezebel by Alix Alvarez and Carlos Mena result in a sophisticated layering of beats and bass in all the right places. Mena even finds a cheeky way to issue a %u2018warning%u2019 about shady Jezebels%u2019 as he weaves in a massive shout out to well-known House music DJs from New York and across the nation.
